The community of Kensington, with a population of approximately 5,000, is an unincorporated area in the extreme southwest corner of Contra Costa County.  It lies between Berkeley on the south and El Cerrito on the north and west.  Kensington is an exceptional place and its residents consider themselves fortunate to live there.  From high in the hills overlooking San Francisco Bay, many homes boast stunning views of the inspiring urban landscape.  With easy access to Bay Area freeways and transportation, yet isolated enough to retain a tranquil-like village atmosphere, Kensington's location in the Bay Area is enviable.
