Many of our
residents in the Oakland Hills, Piedmont and Berkeley have recently arrived
from San Francisco. It does take San Franciscans a while to discover dining
in Oakland and Berkeley. We also have long time residents who still, for whatever
reason, decide to make the weekend commute to San Francisco for dining. Perhaps
these people really miss fighting for a parking space and getting aggressively
panhandled on their way to a restaurant.
Since we live in probably the most beautiful area of the country, I think
we shortchange our lifestyles in the Hills by driving across the Bay Bridge
to San Francisco. We have so many good restaurants here in Oakland and Berkeley
that we need to focus more on our support of them. Share this list with your
neighbors and make this website a regular part of your thought process when
deciding to go out on the town. Besides my ranking and review of my Top Ten,
I am including two honorable mention restaurants.
I encourage you to help me keep these Top Ten restaurants on top of their
game by emailing your comments to me. After all, they may possibly know who
I am since my picture is all over my website. This could possibly result in
certain restaurants giving me preferential treatment which may not be the
same service for everyone else. Let me know about your experiences, good or
bad by posting them under the comments section for each Top Ten restaurant.
This will help me in finalizing the 2004 top ten.
